Yet another friendship has bitten the dust in telly-town. Longtime pals and professional associates Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lehri, who are counted among the most popular jodis on television, have had a fallout. The duo, who got along famously on “Comedy Circus”, have been having differences, according to a report in TOI.
Krushna had recently created quite a flutter when he joined hands with Kapil Sharma’s former associates for ‘The Drama Company’. Ironically, while he seems to be getting along famously with his new colleagues, he has rubbed Sudesh, his friend for almost a decade, the wrong way.
Sources say that Sudesh isn’t happy with Krushna hogging all the limelight on the new show. In fact, the duo even had an argument at its press conference, over their entries. “Sudesh had said Krushna is the star of the show, while the others are mere puppets at the hands of the team,” says an eyewitness.
Their differences seem to have escalated since then. We have it that the shoot of the show was stalled for around five hours last week, following their creative fallout.
Krushna confirms, “We have been having differences and ego hassles, but we will resolve it among ourselves. Earlier, we were constantly in touch and would even discuss personal matters. But these days, we don’t communicate beyond work. In fact, Sudesh has barred me from contacting him. If I want to reach him, I have to go through his manager, and that is something I don’t want to do”.
The reason behind the tiff is that The Drama Company is being called Krushna’s show.
Whatever I have learnt about comedy is because of Sudeshji. During ‘Comedy Circus’, he would get better lines than me, but I never complained. A comedy show is not run by an individual, it requires teamwork. I can’t help it if people are calling ‘The Drama Company’ my show. I play the central character in every skit. I understand that he too, vies for equal screen space and importance, as we have always been called Krushna-Sudesh ki jodi”, Krushna added.
Here’s hoping the duo mend all broken fences and reconcile soon.
