Bollywood films are incomplete without actor and actresses, but it is a villain who renders the heroism to a protagonist. They’re mean, they’re cruel, they’re scary, they plan and plot. In hindi movies, male actors played the role of a villain but in the television serials our beautiful actresses played the role of vamps. Due to these vamps, the TRP of TV serials increases. Every director keeps a role of villain in his serial.

1. Jennifer Winget (Beyhadh)

Jennifer is playing the role of Maya Mehrotra, an insomniac sociopath in the series. She creates a conspiracy against her mother-in-law. She even plans the murder of her own mother. Despite of being a negative character, Jennifer’s glamorous avatar is liked by audience.

2. Leena Jumani (Kumkum Bhagya)

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya is incomplete without Leena Jumani’s character, Tanu. She plays every ugly game to make Pragya’s married life hell. Tanu is one of the primary reasons behind the show’s popularity.

3. Anita Hassanandani (Yeh Hai Mohobattein)

Anita Hassnandani plays Shagun, first wife of Raman in Yeh Hain Mohabbatein. Hassanandani may be the ‘villian’ who stands in the way of the leading couple’s love story. But, in real life people love her very much.

4. Kamya Punjabi (Shakti- Ek Ehsaas Ki)

Kamya Punjabi is known for her negative character. The actress has played negatives in many serials. Her current character on Colors TV is that of a mother-in-law whose only motto in life is to drive her daughter-in-law away from the house. She has also received awards for playing women with shades of grey. Fans still fondly remember her stellar portrayal of Sindura Pratap Singh in Banoo Main Teri Dulhan.

5. Adaa Khan (Naagin 2)

Adaa Khan plays an antagonist in Naagin 2, who spends most of her time hatching evil plans against the other lead, Mouni Roy. The poise with which Ada takes on the role makes her an absolute favourite among fans.

6. Urvashi Dholakia (Kasauti Zindagi Kay)

If we talk about TV’s famous vamps, then the first name which came in our mind is Urvashi Dholakia. She played a role of Komalika in Kasauti Zindagi Kay. The iconic role and the popularity that came with it helped Dholakia win Bigg Boss 6.

7. Amrapali Gupta (Ishqbaaz)

Amrapali Gupta is one of the famous actress of television industry. On Star Plus’ Ishqbaaz, she follows a trail of revenge against the Oberoi family. Before this, she played a negative character in Qubool Hai which also became quite popular.

8. Lavina Tandon (Jodhaa Akbar)

Known for her period show Jodhaa Akbar, Lavina Tandon plays the role of Akbar’s wife. Her character plots against Jodha to win over Akbar and can often be seen strategising to gain her rightful status as queen Ruqaiya Begum.

9. Sudha Chandran (Naagin 2)

Sudha Chandran has been playing the role of vamp in the TV serial for many years. Her character of Ramola Sikand from Kahin Kisi Roz is still fresh in memory. Currently, she essays a negative role in Naagin 2.

10. Rashami Desai (Uttaran)

With her charming smile and graceful demeanour, Rashami Desai has won a lot of hearts during her stint on the small screen. Her character in Uttaran, where she turns against her own best friend, wooed audiences across the board. After the show ended, Desai bagged another much-loved negative role in Adhuri Kahaani Humaari.
