Soon after joining the BJP, Sen showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Not only my but the entire nation is inspired by Prime Minister Modi. I will go wherever the party needs me. The government has given us a responsibility and we will fulfil them,” Sen said.
The role of the actor is yet to be decided, but she will be campaigning for the party. This came right after BJP announced its third list of 67 candidates for Uttar Pradesh elections.
The 35-year-old Rimi Sen made her Bollywood debut in the 2003 comedy film ‘Hungama’, she had also participated in reality tv show ‘Bigg Boss 9′.
According to the reports, Rimi likely to contest the upcoming polls. Recently a senior BJP leader has requested Rimi to become West Bengal’s political activist. Rimi is away from films for long. She was last seen in the film ‘Shagird’ in 2011.
Other actors active in BJP include Hema Malini, Paresh Rawal, Kirron Kher, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha and the Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani. Thus, clearly, Sen is the youngest Hindi film actor to join the party.
