Talking exclusively to indianexpress.com, he shared, “The journey has been a really special one. All through the show I wanted to be in the finale and here I was declared as the winner. More than for me, I wanted to win the show for Punit Sir. He worked so much on me and this title is my dedication to him. Mujhse zyada unhone mehnat ki thi (he worked harder than me). I feel blessed to have won the show among so many talented contestants. I am so thankful to all the people who showered me with love and votes.”
Bir, who is from Silchar, Assam added that he feels lucky to have got such a big platform to showcase his skills. “Coming from a small town where dance as a career is not heard of, I feel fortunate to have been part of such a grand show.” Rather than moving ahead and turning into a choreographer, the 18-year-old has his plans set. “I want to learn as much as I can. There is a long way to go. I want to train myself hard and represent India on international platforms. I want to show the world that it doesn’t matter where you come from, talent and hard work will always show you the way.”
The talented dancer is not new to competitive stage as he had earlier participated in DID Li’L Masters. “That was a completely different experience. Unfortunately, I hadn’t been able to go ahead in the show as I fractured my hand. Guess God had a different plan for me. He wanted me to win Dance Plus 3 and become the Dance Icon,” he shared with a broad smile.
Lastly, when we asked him about his dream dancing partner, a shy Bir replied, “I haven’t thought about it yet but I would love to perform on stage with Dytto.”
Shakti Mohan, Dharmesh and Punit Pathak were the mentors on this season of the show, while choreographer Remo D’Souza was the super judge and Raghav Juyal was the host.
