FIR has been filed against singers Ankit Tiwari, Akriti Kakkar and Shilpa Rao by US company!

The Mumbai Police on Sunday registered an FIR against Bollywood singers Ankit Tiwari, Akruti Kakkar and Shilpa Rao on a complaint filed by a US based event management firm for alleged cheating.

According to the police, the complainant, who is a manager at Deep VIP Travels, has alleged that his company got in touch with Tiwari two years ago, and the singer agreed to do a show for them. Akriti Kakkar was also roped in for the show. An amount of Rs 30 lakh was paid to a firm Brotherhood Entertainment – purportedly owned by Ankit and his brother. But the singers failed to do so and also did not return the money.

The police have summoned the three singers for questioning. The three singers have been booked under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per reports, the complainant, Deep Kumar Vora, had come down to Mumbai from the states just to sort out this issue but the singers haven’t replied to him.

He had asked them to either refund the amount or do the promised show. But they received no response again and hence “were compelled to file an FIR against them”.

In a statement to the leading daily, inspector Arjun Rajane of Oshiwara police station said, “We will be calling them for a statement soon. The singers are not in town right now but they have been summoned.”
