Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji’s father died early on Sunday. He was 84. The filmmaker was not keeping well since a long time. His blood pressure dropped suddenly and he was admitted to Breach Candy hospital where doctors declared him dead at 4 am.
He was the co-founder of Filmalaya Studios and was best-known for directing films like Hum Hindustani and Leader, starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. Mr Mukherjee had also directed and produced Rani’s debut Bengali film Biyer Phool in 1996.
His family held a prayer meet at the Iskcon temple in Juhu, Mumbai. Plenty of celebrities, like the Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Riteish Deshmukh, Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and more were present on this occasion.
