Popular comedian and TV host Kapil Sharma is going through a tough times of his life. A couple of weeks ago, the ace comedian got into a controversy because of his abusive tweets.
Not only this, he also filed a legal complaint against Spotboye editor Vickey Lalwani and his rumored ex-girlfriend and producer Preeti Simoes and her sister Neeti Simoes for trying to extort Rs 25 lakhs from him.
Sharma had alleged that Lalwani started malicious propaganda to defame him in the digital media after he refused to pay him the amount.
Now, Kapil has sent a legal notice of Rs 100 crore to a journalist and entertainment portal SpotboyE for publishing defamatory articles and character assassination. The comedian has demanded an unconditional public apology from Lalwani within seven days of receiving the notice.
He has urged the publication to “desist from publishing and airing defamatory, slanderous and libelous statements/news /interviews” against him”, and has asked them to immediately withdraw the contents of all defamatory articles/publications on all forms of media.
Sharma’s advocate Tanveer Nizam confirmed the legal notice, and told IANS: “In view of the articles by Vickey Lalwani on SpotboyE to wilfully defame my client, we have sent them a legal notice to publicly apologize within seven days, failing which we will institute civil and criminal proceedings against both.”
It all started last month, when Kapil called Spotboy’s editor Vicky Lalwani and abuses him. The website has also released a tape of conversation between Kapil and Vicky, in which Kapil can be heard abusing Vicky.
