The 65th National Film Awards 2018 ceremony began at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. A group of winners decided to boycott the award function by protesting against President Ram Nath Kovind’s decision to not personally present the trophies to all the winners.

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor along with his daughters Jhanvi and Khushi arrive at the red carpet to receive the Best Actress Award posthumously for Sridevi for her role in Mom.
Both Jhanvi and Khushi looks beautiful in a saree.
While talking to media Boney said, “We are proud of her, she truly deserved it. She always gave her best for all her films. Sadly she is not around to accept it. But we are proud of it.”

The news of Sridevi being awarded at the National film awards made her family & fans elated.
Earlier, Boney took to social media and expressed his gratitude for the award. The post read, “Thank you. I just wish she was here today to see this. We are overjoyed to know that the jury has conferred the best actor award to Sridevi for her performance in Mom. It’s a very special moment for all of us. She was always a perfectionist and it showed in all the 300 plus films she did. She was not just a super actor but a super wife and a super mom. It’s time to celebrate her life and her achievements. She is not with us today but her legacy will always live on.”
Sridevi died on January 24, 2018 in Dubai due to accidental drowning in bathtub. She was 54. The actress was in Dubai to attend her nephew’s Mohit Marwah’s wedding.
