Shweta Tiwari reveals why her daughter Palak didn’t play new Prerna in ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’

Ekta Kapoor’s romantic saga ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2′ is in the news since the promo of the show has released. The show launched in 2001 and starred Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan in the lead roles as Prerna and Anurag.

In no time, the serial with a Bengali backdrop went on to become a massive hit with the audience lapping up on the romance of the couple. While, Urvashi Dholakia played the vicious Komolika, and her style and swag made her character an iconic one.

This is known to all that Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan will be seen playing the leads in the show.

And in case you did not know, rumour mill also suggested that Shweta’s daughter Palak was in the running to play the lead.

Confirming to Hindustan Times that Palak was offered the role, Shweta said she would have suggested her to take it up. “Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (production house) that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time.” Shweta said.

“I never force anything on her or tell her what to do. She’s a very intelligent girl. She wants to be an actor; she has already decided that if she will do anything in her life then it will be related to this industry. But, she takes her own calls.’’ she added.

Earlier, there were news doing the rounds that Palak will make her bollywood debut from ‘Quickie’ opposite Darsheel Safary. But, she had to back out from the film owning to her studies.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shweta is all set to make her comeback after a long time, with “Jab We Separated”, a production penned and directed by veteran Rakesh Bedi.

It will be staged in New Delhi on September 8 and September 9.
