Television actor Kavi Kumar Azad who is best known for his role of Dr. Hathi in popular show “Taarak Ka Mehta Ka Ulta Chasmah” breathed his last on July 9.
The sudden demise of the actor has left the entire nation in shock. The actor breathed his last after suffering cardiac arrest.
The show’s entire team is in a state of shock over Kavi’s sudden death. The actor has cremated at the Mira Road (East) Crematorium. Kavi was playing the role of Dr Haathi on the show for 8 years.
Since the actor passes, it was being speculated that who will play the character of Dr. Hathi in the show. But, finally after two months of searching, the makers have got the actor who will play the role of Dr. Hathi in the show and he is none another than actor Nirmal Soni.
[ecp code=”4″]According to sources, Nirmal Soni, who earlier played the role of Dr Hathi for a year will once again return to the show to reprise the role. His comeback will be shot in a grand manner amidst Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with a lot of pomp and fanfare. The track will air next week most probably on September 13.
Nirmal Soni didn’t leave the show on a good note so makers were sceptical if he will say yes or but all things fell into right place this time.
Meanwhile, a close source revealed the difficulties the team was having to face while casting for the famous role. “Kavi was extremely funny. You saw him and you started laughing– not because of his weight but because of his facial expressions. He was all the time so good at his job, the character had almost got into him even in his daily life. We definitely want someone as Dr Hathi in the episodes ahead, but we surely could not cast anybody for just the heck of it. Kavi raised the standards so high that the next Dr Hathi has to be at least extraordinary if not as good as him. Nirmal is the best bet for now.”
