In the wake of #MeeToo movement, director Sajid Khan has been accused of sexual harassment by different women. The names include Saloni Chopra, Simran Suri, Rachel White, Karishma Upadhyay and Priyanka Bose.
And now, according to latest reports, the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) has suspended him for one year over sexual harassment complaints.
IFTDA suspends Sajid Khan for one year
This verdict has been passed after Sajid appeared before the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) set up by the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) on October 31, where the allegations against him were investigated.
The 48-year-old filmmaker released a statement on Twitter and wrote, “In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on my family, my producer and the stars of my film Housefull 4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth.”

Apart from Sajid Khan, several Bollywood personalities such as directors Subhash Ghai, Vikas Bahl and Rajat Kapoor, actors such as Alok Nath and singers such as Kailash Kher and Abhijeet have been named in India’s #MeToo movement.
