Chitrangada Singh’s ex-husband Jyoti Randhawa arrested in poaching case


Ace golfer and Chitrangada Singh’s ex-husband Jyoti Randhawa arrested on charges of poaching in the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve protected area in Uttar Pradesh.

Reportedly, a rifle (A-22), a vehicle, wild boar skin, binoculars and other hunting equipments were seized from Randhawa.

Apart from Jyoti, another national-level shooter Mahesh Virajdar was arrested as well.

“Jyoti Singh Randhawa and Mahesh Virajdar (who accompanied him) have been arrested in a poaching case in Motipur range of Katerniaghat. A vehicle, weapon and other equipment along with wildlife articles have been seized. Interrogation and further legal action are being taken by the DFO (divisional forest officer) Katerniaghat and his team,” said Ramesh Pandey, Field Director at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve.

A case under the relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act was lodged against them and they have been sent to jail, an official informed.

Randhawa, who turned professional in 1994, has been a well-known name in Indian golf. He won 16 professional titles in all, eight of them on the Asian Tour. He was married to actress Chitrangada Singh for 13 years before the couple got divorced in 2014. They have a son, named Zorawar.
