Veteran director J Mahendran, who has given Tamil cinema several important films has passes away on April 2 at his residence in Chennai. He was 79.
The noted filmmaker was being treated for a critical illness at Chennai’s Apollo Hospital. However, he was reportedly taken home Monday night.

The final rights of the director are scheduled to be performed at 5:00 pm. The director is survived by his wife Jasmine, son John and two daughters Dimple and Anurita.
Rajinikanth visited his house in Pallikaranai, Chennai to pay his last respects to the director.
