De De Pyaar De review

Story of the movie:

The film is centred around Ashish (Ajay Devgn) and Aisha (Rakul Preet Singh), who fall in love despite the quarter-century age gap between them. Ashish is a wealthy businessman living in London and estranged from his wife Manju (Tabu), who is a hotelier in Kullu and has brought up their two children. Aisha works through the corporate grind during the week and is a bartender on weekends.  Ashish and Aisha falls in a serious relationship. Before tying the knot, Ashish, decides to make Aisha meet his ex-wife Manju (Tabu) and his two kids [who are almost the same age as his current flame] in India. But all hell breaks loose when he tries to seek approval from his estranged family.

Star Performance:

Ajay Devgn has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. Rakul Preet, on the other hand, fails to lend any depth to her character. Tabu has done justice to her role. Jimmy Sheirgill as Tabu’s admirer adds comic relief. Javed Jaaferi, in a special appearance adds humor.

Music Direction:

The songs are weak, but the background score is consistently strong to lift many of the scenes.

Direction:

The film’s direction is good. The dialogues have been well written. The film maturely handles a few touchy topics like divorce, live-ins and age-inappropriate romance, without getting too overbearing. The first is funniert, while the second half of the film is quite lengthy.

De De Pyaar De is a fun ride. You can watch it this weekend!
