The Zoya Factor Review

Story of the movie:

The story of the film revolves around a girl, Zoya (Sonam Kapoor), who was born on the day India won its first Cricket World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. Her father believes she’s the gift of Cricket gods to the family. Now, as every Indian family, this family too follow some superstitions. Zoya grows up being a Junior Copywriter in an ad agency and she gets a chance to shoot with the Indian Cricket Team.

Despite hating cricket, she ends up going for the campaign where she meets the Indian cricket captain, Dulquer Salmaan. Not only is she head over heels for him, but she miraculous makes him also fall in love with her. Because of this, she ends up sharing breakfast with the cricket team one morning before the match and tells all how lucky she has been since childhood for cricket. The rest of the cricketers apart from Dulquer Salmaan believe her. Will Sonam Kapoor end up being the lucky charm that the Indian team? For this, you have to watch the film.

Star Performance:

Dulquer Salmaan has delivered a good performance in the film. Sonam Kapoor is back in good form. Sanjay Kapoor is praiseworthy. Angad Bedi as the antagonist played his role brilliantly.

Music Direction:

The film’s music is good.

The film’s direction is okay. Manoj Lobo’s Cinematography is good. From imitating real-life Cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar to pretty boring matches, the film just doesn’t get its ‘Cricket’ aspect right. The screenplay of the film could be even better.
