Bollywood actor Salman Khan receives a death threat on Facebook ahead of his court hearing in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
The threat issued on a Facebook page was posted by an account named Gary Shooter.
In the post, which was posted on a group called Sopu (Student organisation of Punjab University) group, Gary warns Salman that he can escape from Indian law, but not from the law of Bishnoi community.

The post has a crossed picture of Salman, which reads “Salman, think, you can save yourself from Indian law, however, Vishnoi Samaj and Sopu Party have announced death sentence for you. You are an accused in Sopu’s court”.
“Salaam sahid da nu; Respect girls; Save animals; Avoid drugs & help poor; Sukha kahlon Garry”, it added.
The police said they are investigating the matter. “We (will) step up our security if we get input regarding a special threat after doing an assessment. We will investigate this matter. We have social media cell for this… If we get a special input then we will pro-actively neutralize that threat. We will also keep the security arrangements strong,” said DCP (East) of Jodhpur Dharmendra Singh Yadav.
Salman Khan who was convicted by a Jodhpur court in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, on April 5, 2018, is scheduled to be present in Jodhpur Court on September 27 (Friday) in connection with the same. The court had mentioned that Salman Khan’s bail will be cancelled if he is not present in the court on that day.
