Story of the movie:
The story of the film revolves around Balmukund (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is suffering from premature balding. He is into marketing who sells a fairness cream. To get his hair back Bala and his family are engrossed in doing the weirdest treatments ever, from oils, cow dung and hundreds of remedies to get his pride back but to not use. Friends with Latika (Bhumi Pedenkar), who’s not ‘society’s level’ fair, Bala ignores her because he’s attracted to beauty. After 210 solutions in 2 years, Bala settles with a wig and meets Pari (Yami Gautam). Pari falls in love with the Bala in a wig without knowing the reality. The rest of the story revolves around how will Pari react once she knows the reality and what is Latika’s role in Bala’s life.
Ayushmann Khurrana has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. Both Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar add a worthy value to the narrative. From Saurabh Shukla and Abhishek Banerjee to Jaaved Jaaferi, they all have done justice to their roles.
The film’s music is good.
The film’s direction is good. Dialogues are hilarious. From the societal standards of beauty to gender stereotypes, Bala fights several taboo topics.
