Panipat song Mard Maratha: Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s song depicts Maratha glory and legacy


After unveiling several posters and trailer, now the makers of Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat has released the first song Mard Maratha from the film and it is a shout out to the power of Marathas.

The song has been sung by a number of singers including music composer duo Ajay-Atul, Kunal Ganjawala, Sudesh Bhosle, Swapnil Bandhodkar, Padmanabh Gaikwad and Priyanka Barve. The lyrics of the song are penned by Javed Akhtar, while its music is composed by Ajay and Atul.

According to Mumbai Mirror, ‘Mard Maratha‘ has been shot on an extensive scale, replete with Peshwai ambience, with whopping 1,300 dancers, including lejhim dancers from Pune and authentic bull dancers. The report further adds the song is choreographed by Raju Khan, and was shot across 13 days at a regal life-size set of Shaniwar Wada in Karjat, constructed by art director Nitin Desai for the film.

Panipat is based on the third battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on January 14, 1761.

The battle was fought between the northern expeditionary Force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar’s company – Vision World, the film is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
