Bollywood actors Jackie Shroff and Govinda has fined Rs 20,000 by a consumer court in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar for promoting pain relief oil.
Reportedly, the company producing those pain relief oil has also been imposed with a fine. The case against the company and the actors was filed five years back.

According to reports, Abhinav Agarwal, a Muzaffarnagar-based lawyer had ordered a pain relief oil for his father Brijbhushan Agarwal, 70, for Rs 3,600 after seeing an advertisement in the newspaper that promised full refund if the user fails to get visible results in 15 days.
When the oil failed to bring any relief to Abhinav’s father, he contacted the company, however, they failed to repay him.
Later, Abhinav filed a complaint in the Consumer Court. “I bought the product because celebrities like Govinda and Jackie Shroff were promoting it. The company promised complete relief in 15 days. Everything turned out to be a fraud,” said Abhinav to IANS.
The Court has ordered the company, Govinda, Jackie Shroff, Telemart Shopping Network Pvt Limited and Max Communications to pay a compensation of Rs 20,000 to victim apart from returning Rs. 3,600 with an interest of 9 per cent per annum.
