Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi who was detained by Bundi police for her alleged comments on Motilal Nehru has recently denied bail and she has been sent to judicial custody till December 24.
The actress has been booked under relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indian Penal Code, including that which deals with insulting with intent to provoke a breach of peace.

Yesterday, post her arrest, Payal herself took to her social media and wrote, “I am arrested by @PoliceRajasthan for making a video on #MotilalNehru which I made from taking information from @google Freedom of Speech is a joke @PMOIndia @HMOIndia.”

Payal Rohatgi came under scanner on September 21, 2019 for her video, in which she made some objectionable comments against Motilal Nehru’s family. In the video she was also heard defaming Jawaharlal Nehru’s wife.
The complaint was filed by Youth Congress leader Charmesh Sharma and the case was registered under sections 66 and 67 of the IT Act.
