The news of actor Kushal Punjabi’s death has left the entire nation in shock. The actor committed suicide at his Bandra residence last night.
Confirming the news of his death to SpotboyE, his close friends, Karanvir Bohra and Chetan Hansraj said that it is a case of suicide.
A lot has been said and written about the reason behind Kushal Punjabi’s suicide and in an interview with The Times of India, his close friend, Chetan Hansraj shared some details about the actor’s personal life.
Kushal Punjabi was depressed due to his failed marriage
Kushal told that the actor had a failed marriage with his wife, Audrey Dolhen. She was living with their son, Kian, in Shanghai since a long time. She wanted to file for divorce soon.
In an interview, the actor said, “Yes, it is a suicide. He was going through separation from his wife and he was also down with sickness. I still can’t believe that Kushal is no more with us. I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he discussed with me that he was disturbed. I tried telling him that things happen in life and he should just fight back. But I never imagined that he will take such a step. It is heartbreaking.”

Chetan and Kushal have known each other since last 20 years and the former says, he will always remember him as a fighter, “He was such a positive, fun loving guy. He always laughed and had a smiling face. He was a fighter and always inspired people around him to be fit. We have known each other for the last 20 years and we have grown up together. He was more like a brother to me. The loss is irreparable,” said Chetan.
Chetan also shared that the actor’s body has been sent for the post mortem and his funeral will take place by today or tomorrow.
As per reports, Mumbai Police has also found a suicide note from the actor’s residence. According to the note written by Kushal, nobody is to be blamed for his death.
Kushal was a part of shows like ‘CID’, ‘Kabhi Jaan Kabhi Naa’, ‘Yeh Dil Chahe More’, ‘Kasam Se’ and ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’ to name a few. Apart from television, Kushal also starred in films like Kaal, Lakshya, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, and Salaam-e-Ishq to name a few.
