Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak is one of the much-awaited films of the year. The trailer of the film has received a great response from the audience.
And now, the makers of the film has released a new video Muh Dikhai 2.0 which features four acid attack survivors who are a part of the film. The actress says that what inspires her is their (the survivors’ ) spirit.
The video begins with the film’s writer and director, Meghna Gulzar saying ” it is a strange dichotomy that on one level we are fighting for feminism, and women’s rights and at another level women are put at a pedestal where their beauty is at a premium. ..which is why taking away the beauty, attacking her with acid, has become a weapon of choice.”
Deepika says she is inspired by their spirit and how they have chosen not to be victims but ‘victorious’.
Muh Dikhai 2.0:
Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who was attacked at the tender age of 15, by a 32-year-old man, who had one-sided attraction towards her. She now runs an NGO that works for the acid attack survivors and is also a proud owner of a cafe which is managed by these survivors.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film will release on January 10, 2020.
