SRK’s DDLJ finds a special mention in Donald Trump’s speech at Gujarat’s Motera Stadium, watch

US President Donald Trump has arrived in India for his two-day visit. Trump was greeted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom Trump recently described as “a friend of mine.”

While addressing a crowd in Motera Stadium at Ahmedabad, Trump spoke about various topics which also included Bollywood movies and Indian sports personalities.

The US President’s speech had a special mention of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'(DDLJ) and Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer ‘Sholay’. As soon as Trump mentioned these movies, the crowd started cheering louder.

“All over the planet people take great joy in scenes of Bhangra and music, dance, romance and drama and classic Indian films like DDLJ and Sholay,” Trump said in his speech. He also mentioned cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in his speech.

He further added, “India is a creative hub that creates over 2000 movies from Bollywood. India embraces liberty, rule of law and freedom. Even though there are so many communities and languages, you all unite as one great Indian nation.”

This is not the first time that SRK”s classic film has found a mention in the speech of any US President. Earlier when Barack Obama had visited India in 2015, he had casually dropped Shah Rukh’s iconic dialogue from DDLJ in his speech when he said, “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein… you know what I mean.”
