Legendary Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor paased away at the of 67 after a two-year-long battle with cancer. The news was his death was confirmed by Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter.

The actor was very active on Twitter and often shared his thoughts on trending topics using his sense of humour. His last message though was a serious appeal to his fans.

In his last tweet made on April 2, Rishi Kapoor urged all to not resort to violence and not attack doctors, policemen or others who are helping us fight Coronavirus.

His message read, “An appeal to all brothers and sisters from all social status and faiths. Please don’t resort to violence,stone throwing or lynching. Doctors,Nurses,Medics, Policemen etc..are endangering their lives to save you. We have to win this Coronavirus war together. Please. Jai Hind!”

The actor returned to India last September after undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year. In February, Kapoor was hospitalised twice due to his health issues.

He was first admitted to a hospital in Delhi where he was attending a family function. At the time, Kapoor had said that he was suffering from an “infection”.

The actor is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir and daughter Riddhima.
