#DobaraPoocho: Deepika Padukone launches mental health campaign

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone who has been vocal about her struggles with depression in the past has recently launched a powerful campaign: #DobaraPoocho- which translates to “Ask again” – stresses at the need to repeatedly inquire about the mental well being of the person despite their assurances of being fit and fine.

The actress took to her instagram account and posted a short video which touches upon the stigma faced by people due to which they aren’t able to discuss their mental health issues.

The video features four separate stories wherein a close friend or a family member of the person suffering from depression is seen constantly asking the patient to speak up and discuss their problems.

She captioned the video as, “#DobaraPoocho Now more than ever we need to be sensitive and support the emotional needs of those around us…#DobaraPoocho #MentalHealthMatters,”

Meanwhile, Deepika’s extensive work towards the spread of awareness regarding mental health has also gotten her the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum for spreading awareness about the importance of mental health.
