The 65th National Film Awards 2018 ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday. The ceremony got marred by controversy after it was announced that President Ram Nath Kovind will not be giving away awards to all the 140 winners.
Information & Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani, Minister of State, Information & Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Secretary, Information & Broadcasting Narendra Kumar Sinha handed over the awards in the absence of President Kovind.
Late actress Sridevi’s husband Boney was there with his two daughters Jahnvi and Khushi to receive the Best Actress award for Mom on her behalf.
Janhvi looks beautiful in a saree while her little sister was dressed in a pattu-pavda. The trio together accepted her award from the President.

Film producer and late actor Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor looked emotional as he came to receive his wife’s National Award.
Sridevi died on January 24, 2018 in Dubai due to accidental drowning in bathtub. She was 54. The actress was in Dubai to attend her nephew’s Mohit Marwah’s wedding. The actress untimely death has shocked millions of her fans.
The actress was one of the famous actress of Hindi Cinema. She ruled the hearts of millions. Her sudden death was a huge shock for her family and her industry colleagues. She was cremated with full state honours, wrapping her mortal remains with a tricolour.
