Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi who recently seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the film ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is all set to make her Hollywood debut.
Yes, the actress will make her hollywood debut from director Gurinder Chadha’s film ‘The Viceroy’s House’.
“Huma is a great actress. And with ‘Viceroy’s House’, she will get a great launch in global cinema. For the role, she had to ditch her Mumbaiya accent and get into the prim and proper British one,” Gurinder said.
The film headlined by Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Huma and Manish Dayalis all set to premiere at the Berlinale 2017.
A source confirms, “Huma met Jaya (Thadani) in London to learn how she speaks and hear her stories and absorb how she lived her life during that time. After spending a day together, the two grew close. Huma is set to host a special screening of the film in London, as she is really excited to have Jaya’s feedback on her performance and the film on a whole.”
With ‘Viceroy’s House’ becoming an official selection at Berlinale 2017, it becomes Huma’s third film to be screened on a global platform – Her debut film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ was screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2012 and ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ ,was also screened at Berlin in 2014.
