Bollywood script and screenplay writer Anukalp Goswami is all set to bring his comical style of writing to television with a sitcom “Bhaag Bakool Bhaag”.

He says “it is a classic sitcom where the twists and turns will keep viewers entertained”. “Bhaag Bakool Bhaag“, to be aired on Colors channel, will showcase the life of Bakool who is caught in the midst of two marriages.

According to the reports ‘Sasural Genda Phool’ actor Jay Soni being finalised to play the hero in Edit II Productions’ next ‘Bhaag Bakool Bhaag’, there’s more cracking news on the cast. Actress Hiba Nawab, who was last seen in ‘Meri Saasu Maa‘, has been roped in to play one of Jay’s two wives (as reported) in the show.

Playing the title role in the sitcom ‘Bhaag Bakool Bhaag’, Jay will be seen in two avatars — one of a rural guy and another of a modern urban man — to suit the personalities of his wives. Hiba, who will play the city wife, refused to comment. When contacted, she said, “I am not allowed to speak about it.”

Talking about the show Anukalp said “I believe that there is a lot of entertainment and comic relief in our everyday relationships; all we have to do, is look for it in the right places. ‘Bhaag Bakool Bhaag‘ addresses a topic that every man dreams of – to have two women who could shape his future.”

Anukalp, who also wrote the film “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon“, added: “The show is a classic sitcom where the twists and turns will keep viewers entertained. I really hope that audiences enjoy this unusual twist on relationships; we have seen it in films, now it’s time to bring them to television.”

The show, we hear, is loosely based on the Govinda, Tabu and Karisma Kapoor-starrer ‘Sajan Chale Sasural’. Caught in a Catch-22 situation, Jay, like Govinda in the film, will not be able to disclose about his other marriage to either of his wives.

Slated to air on an early evening time slot on Colors, the show will go on floors in the first week of April.
