It’s look like singer Sonu Nigam absolutely loves to court controversy, or to be in the spotlight, or both.
After stirring up a controversy by posting about ‘forced religiousness’ and speaking against the use of loudspeakers atop mosques, temples and gurudwaras for religious purposes, Sonu Nigam, on Sunday, took to the social media to share a video of azaan.
Nigam doesn’t say in his tweet where he recorded this particular ‘azaan’ from and on what day. All he says is “Good morning India.”

In the clip, which was presumably recorded at dawn, the loud call to prayer can be heard all around.
Looks like, the 43-year-old has responded to the reports that claimed there was no sound of azaan near his house.

On April 17, Sonu nigam woke up to tweet something that stirred a controversy across the country. Miffed with loudspeakers used for ‘Azaan’, singer tweeted, “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India”. Post this, Twitteratis had a field day, while some were supporting his views, rest slammed it brutally.
He’s has had a ‘fatwa’ issued against him, he’s clipped his hair in response, he’s stood by his tweets, endured trolling and given it back to trolls.
