Famous Iranian director Majid Majidi’s next film, ‘Beyond The Clouds’, has been in the news for quite some time. After all, the film marks Majidi’s first ever project in India.
Starring Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan, the film has been completely shot in India.
A source in the know of developments said: “Majidi shot the last scene of the film with the lead cast in Mumbai over the last weekend. Everyone on the sets was very emotional as one of their life’s most cherished shoot came to an end, where they got to see the cinematic god in action personally.”
“While shooting for the film everyday over the past few months, everyone had grown close to each other like one big family.”
“Beyond The Clouds”, the shooting for which began in January, features Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter in the lead with actress Malavika Mohanan. The film, which covers the nuances of an adorable brother-sister relationship, has been completely shot in India.
The entire cast and crew marked the occasion with an impromptu cake cutting ceremony with the legendary filmmaker.
Says the official spokesperson on behalf of Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, “The shoot of the film is complete and is ready to get into post-production.”
During his stay here, Majidi had revealed that the inspiration behind the project was the late Indian legend, Satyajit Ray. “Filmmakers like Ray have represented India’s culture, its rich heritage and the lives of common people to a global audience. These visions and images have stayed in my mind for year. That’s what cajoled me to make a film in India,” he said.
‘Beyond The Clouds‘ will certainly have all eyes on it in the coming months.
