Sanjay Dutt, who has always been open about his phase of drug addiction and rehabilitation, is all set to collaborate with the government to set up de-addiction centres across the country.
The actor who is making comeback on big screen with ‘Bhoomi’, told a daily that We plan to open centres to help people fight the menace of drugs. I am in talks with the government and the approvals are yet to come through. He also said that all details will be finalized once the necessary permissions are cleared. The de-addiction centres plan will offer effective facilities and counselling.
Awareness, he thinks, is key to winning the battle, and his star status could come handy. “I could opt for [expensive de-addiction] treatment and rehab in America because my family could afford it. Not everyone can. The idea is to provide affordable facilities for people right here,” he added.
On the professional front, Sanjay is making his comeback to Bollywood with Omung Kumar’s “Bhoomi”, which is a revenge drama. The film is an emotional and sensitive drama that explores the relationship between a father and daughter. The film will release on September 22.
