We all know that Star Plus’ “Ishqbaaz” is the first Indian TV serial to start its spin off show ‘Dil Bole Oberoi’. Another show to follow this new trend is Zee TV’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and its spin off will be titled as ‘Kundali Bhagya‘.
Sriti Jha and Shabbir Ahluwalia’s chemistry has made ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ one of the most profitable shows of the channel. Even after three years of its run-time, it enjoys an amazing viewership.
The latest report reveals that the makers have roped in Dheeraj Dhoopar, who was last seen on “Sasural Simar Ka” as the lead actor in the spin off show.
Dheeraj was quoted by a leading daily as saying, “This is a dream project as the audience will get to see me in a never-seen-before avatar. After portraying a doting husband in ‘SSK’, I will now play a flamboyant and stylish Casanova.”
When asked as to whether he is nervous that people would compare him to Kumkum Bhagya’s lead actor, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Dheeraj clarified that he is not taking over anyone!
Dheeraj further added, “Of course, Shabbir has done a swell job on his show, but ‘Kundali Bhagya’ is my project. There will be comparisons, but I will carve out my own identity with the new show.”
Informs a source associated with the show, “The story will revolve around Pragya’s two sisters. Vijay Kashyap has been roped in to play their father. He will be the connecting point between both the shows.”
the show ‘Kundali Bhagya‘ will replace “Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani”, which is all set to go off air on July 4.
