Talking about Sridevi and her film, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani said, “Srideviji’s performance in Mom has the same impact as Nargisji in Mother India. They both define motherhood and the ingrained sacrifices that a mother makes for a child. I’d go as far as to say Mom is the contemporary Mother India, “reports DNA.

“There will not be one dry eye in the theatres when the film opens.” In fact CBFC’s female board members got too emotional and got in tears after watching the film. The source added, ” It is probably Sridevi’s career’s best performance.” he added.

The film ‘MOM’ is Sridevi’s new film where she appears in a lead role after the 2014 super-hit English Vinglish. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. There are two Pakistani actors as well, Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali; the latter plays Sridevi’s daughter in the film. It appears to be some sort of a thriller but everything else is pretty confusing.

Directed by Ravi Udywar, the film will be hitting the screens on July 7.
