Guess who’s playing Shah Rukh Khan’s onscreen father in Aanand L Rai’s yet-untitled film where SRK plays a dwarf. ?
It is writer-director-actor Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film also features actresses Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and will see Shah Rukh in the role of a dwarf. “I finished my shoot for now, still 2-3 days of shoot is left. It was very good to be in the film. I am playing Shah Rukh’s father and that was really fun,” Tigmanshu told PTI.
“I do very few films as an actor but when a filmmaker friend feels that I can do justice to a certain role — and when I need some money — then only I do a film. It’s a very technical film in which Shah Rukh is playing a character of dwarf so I wanted to see how it is made because when Kamal Hassan (Appu Raja) did it, that time he did that with folded legs and VFX facility also wasn’t available,” said Tigmanshu at the trailer launch of his upcoming film “Raagdesh” on Thursday.
“So, to know that process, I did this film. It’s a very time consuming film where you have to give the best effort because you have to shoot each shot with 3 to 4 different approaches and in each day they only used to complete only one scene so it’s a hard film to make, but they are giving their best effort for that,” he added.
The fun part here is that SRK is 2 years older than Tigmanshu in real life!
The “Paan Singh Tomar” director is not new to acting and has previously worked in several films like “Gangs of Wasseypur” among other.
Aanand L Rai’s film casts Shah Rukh in the role of a “vertically challenged” person as the protagonist. Talking about his role, the actor said: “It is a movie on a vertically challenged special person. I enjoyed while shooting for the film. I think technically these kind of films should be made in India. I feel proud that my team is doing that,” reported IANS.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh will next be seen in “Jab Harry Met Sejal”, also co-starring Anushka. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, it will hit screens on August 4.
