Ranveer Singh’s full name is Ranveer Singh Bhavnani. However, he decided to drop his surname “Bhavnani” because he thought it is too long and also unmemorable. After entering films, he even wanted to change his name as it sounded like ‘Ranbir’, but he didn’t.
Started His Career as a Copywriter
Straight out of college, Ranveer Singh unlike other actors was not into modeling. Ranveer started his career as a copy writer in an ad agency named O&M. He has worked as an Assistant Director, but left it to pursue acting.
The Kapoor connection

Before getting his big break in Yash Raj Films’ “Band Baaja Baaraat”, Ranveer Singh refused three movies that he was offered. While he got numerous offers for small roles, he always wanted to start his career with a lead role. This is why YRF’s “Band Baaja Baarat” happened. There were strong rumours that Ranveer’s father paid a hefty amount to the YRF to get his son launched. Ranveer, however, refuted all such claims and said he got the film on the basis of his talent.
