The teaser of Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha’s upcoming road film, ‘Jia Aur Jia’, looks refreshing. The film is shot in Sweden and revolves around two women who’ve tagged along for a road journey. The share the same name, but have starkly different personalities.
The teaser offers a glimpse into the women-centric drama with both Kalki and Richa playing the protagonists, Jia. While Kalki is a quirky and edgy Jia, Richa’s Jia is slightly controlled and strict.
Directed by Howard Rosemeyer, the film feels like a welcoming change after Bollywood’s long list of bromances.
‘Jia aur Jia’ director, Howard Rosemeyer has revealed that actress Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha once agreed to sleep in a van while shooting for the upcoming film as they finished work late at night and had to report on the set early in the morning.

During the shooting of the film in Sweden, the cast and crew worked at remote locations.
While shooting one night, both Kalki and Richa suggested that they were willing to sleep in the van they were using to shoot in the film since they had to shoot an early morning sunrise shot and didn’t want to waste time travelling since the rest of the crew was staying too.
“It was a pleasure to shoot with both the ladies who truly are the stars of the film. I was surprised when Kalki and Richa suggested that they are Ok with sleeping in the van instead of going back to the hotel late at night. I haven’t seen actresses who are so professional and so adjusting,” Rosemeyer said in a statement.
The film will present the story of two strangers, played by Richa and Kalki. They go on a life-changing road trip who both by destiny have only one thing in common – their names. The film is directed by Howard Rosemeyer, who is a well known actor and dance choreographer for films like ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ and ‘Rustom’.
Kalki Koechlin was last seen in ‘A Death In The Gunj’, on the other hand, Richa Chadha will return as Bholi Punjaban for ‘Fukrey Returns’, the much loved sequel of ‘Fukrey’. The film is set to release on December 8.
