The court also rejected her application for seeking the call data records of Aditya Pancholi, the father of the accused and two other people. However while accepting her plea of calling for the Black Berry Messenger (BBM) messages which were allegedly exchanged between Jiah and Sooraj, the court held that they would be called, as and when required during the trial of the case.

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found hanging in her room on June 3, 2013. Since than, her mother Rabia is fighting to prove that her death was a murder, and not a suicide.

Jiah, 25, left behind a note allegedly pointing a finger at Sooraj Pancholi. Later, Mumbai police had arrested Sooraj Pancholi on charges of ‘abetment to (Jiah’s) suicide’ and he was later granted bail.

On Rabia’s request, the case was handed over to the CBI in July 2014. The CBI also came to the conclusion that Jiah had committed suicide, and that the actor’s death was not a murder. However, Rabia continued to demand further investigation, stating that the investigating team didn’t analyse the scientific evidence that she had brought in.
