An FIR has been registered against Ayazuddin Siddiqui, brother of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, for allegedly hurting religious sentiments as he posted a derogatory picture of Lord Shiva.
The complaint against Ayazuddin Siddiqui was filed by the Hindu Yuva Vahini members on Sunday. Ayazuddin was booked under 153A of the IPC (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth).
“Frankly, it looks like Ayazuddin had no intention of hurting anyone. He has not written anything offensive. All he did was to write something rejecting the offensive picture and post which was shared on the social networking website,” Hariram Yadav Deputy Superintendent of Police in Muzaffarnagar told a newspaper.
“He wrote something to the effect that condemned the offensive post but while writing it he also copy pasted the offensive picture which is the reason behind the HYV’s anger and complaint. It was after the HYV’s complaint that police registered an FIR against him under section 153A,” he added.

Ayazuddin denied the allegations and said, “A man posted a derogatory pic of Lord Shiva, I confronted him about it & wrote you shouldn’t share posts that can hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. Instead, a case was filed against me. Charges should be investigated.”
Well, this is not the first time when Siddiqui family has been in controversy for hurting religious sentiments. Back in 2016, Shiv Sena members protested against Nawazuddin Siddique performing the Ramleela in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh. The shows were forced to cancel last minute as they objected to ‘a Muslim actor’ going on stage in Ramleela.
