The film which was earlier titled Loveratri was embroiled in many controversies as some groups opposed the title and stated that it hurt Hindu sentiments.

Well the new title Loveyatri is still not acceptable by Hindu outfits. According to reports, a Hindu outfit told the Gujarat High Court Wednesday that the new title was unacceptable to it. The city-based Sanatan Foundation had last week moved a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking change of the title and some content of the film, or its ban for “hurting sentiments of Hindus”.

The outfit told the court Wednesday that the new film title was not acceptable as it still sounds similar to Hindu festival ‘Navratri’.

The petitioner’s lawyer B B Agrawal submitted in the court that the film’s tagline – a journey of love – as shown in its posters and promotions could be converted into “Love Ki Yatra”.

Earlier at Bigg Boss launch, Salman Khan said, “Some people, I don’t know who they are, have some problem with title of the film. It is a beautiful title. There is nothing more beautiful than love, so it is called ‘Loveratri’. It is not demeaning any culture. Our prime minister is from that culture. So, when you play a character, like I played a sardar in a film or I played a Haryanvi in ‘Sultan’, I do it with a lot of respect.”

“We are making the film with Navaratri in the backdrop. We have made this beautiful film celebrating the music, colour, love and the fun of festive season. We don’t need any publicity like that. Once the film is released those people will know there is nothing,” he added.

The film is a love story set in Gujarat. The film is directed by debutant director Abhiraj Minawala (former assistant of director Ali Abbas Zafar) and produced by Salman Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films.

The film is slated to release on October 5, 2018.
