Since the time Tanushree Dutta came out with details of harassment she faced on the sets of a 2008 film, Horn OK Pleassss, at the hands of veteran actor Nana Patekar, scores of women have spoken up in what is being seen as India’s #MeToo.

Several Bollywood personalities such as directors Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai, Vikas Bahl and Rajat Kapoor, actors such as Alok Nath and singers such as Kailash Kher and Abhijeet have been named in India’s #MeToo movement.

Well now, actor Shatrughan Sinha opens up on the same and said that he has never harassed a woman in his 40 years of career.

In an interview with IANS, He said, “What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I am all for the #MeToo movement, never in my 40-year career have I misbehaved with any woman. I treat every lady with utmost respect. Having said that, I think this #MeToo campaign is being blown out of all proportion.”.

Shatrughan said that he does not mind working with Subash Ghai even if he is proven guilty of sexual misconduct. He wonders how everyone is fine working with Sanjay Dutt after coming out of jail but is not okay in this case. “Even if he is proven guilty, and he serves the punishment given to him, I’d work with him. Sanjay Dutt served his jail sentence and is back working in our large-hearted film industry. In fact, we had no problem working with him even when he was an accused in a serious case,” said Sinha.

“This hypocrisy I can’t understand. They have no problem working with Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted. But they want to blacklist people whose guilt is yet to be proven. Just to look like heroes of the #MeToo movement,” said the actor.
