Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been hospitalised at Chennai’s Apollo Hospital after he complained of cardiac issues.
A representative of a media house Lokesh Jey, from Chennai, confirmed the news on social media. His Tweet read, “Director #ManiRatnam admitted to Greams Road Apollo hospital due to cardiac problems.”

However, fans need not worry as he is now back to work after a routine check-up, his representative confirmed in a tweet. “After a routine check-up, Mani Ratnam sir is back to office today with his routine work. All is Well,” Nikkil Murugan wrote.

Ratnam complained of cardiac problems in 2004, while shooting for the multi-starrer Yuva. He also had a health scare in 2009 and 2015.
The filmmaker has given some of the most beautiful films to Hindi cinema. A few names are Bombay (1995), Dil Se (1998), Raavan(2010), Guru (2007), Ok Jaanu (2017 and Saathiya (2002) among others.

On the professional front, Mani Ratnam is currently working on Ponniyin Selvan. The film based on the novel of Amarar Kalki revolves around the kingdom of Raja Raja Cholan. The film’s cast has some big names such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Amitabh Bachchan, Amala Paul, Jayaram Ravi, Karthi and Anushka Shetty.
