Actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar has recently slammed the central government for the security clamp-down in Jammu and Kashmir after Article 370 abrogation.

The actress reveals that her husband, a businessman who hails from Kashmir, hasn’t been able to talk to his parents for the last 22 days.

“The question is not only about abrogating Article 370. It was done in inhuman manner,” said Matondkar.

Urmila also revealed that her in-laws suffer from diabetes and high-blood pressure. “My father-in-law and mother-in-law stay there. Both are diabetic, have high blood pressure. Today is the 22nd day, neither me nor my husband have been able to speak to them. We have no clue if they have medicines available at home,” she said.

Urmila Matondkar tied the knot with Mohsin Akhtar Mir in a private ceremony in March 2016. Urmila and Mohsin first met at a party in 2014 and dated for a few years before tying the knot. Her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir is a model-businessman based in Mumbai, who hails from Kashmir.

On August 5,  Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the scrapping of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir on Monday in Rajya Sabha.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir has been bifurcated into two union territories—Jammu and Kashmir with Legislature and Ladakh without Legislature.
