RIP! Filmmaker Shyam Ramsay of Ramsay Brothers passes away

Filmmaker Shyam Ramsay, one of the seven brothers from the Ramsay brothers passes away on Wednesday morning. He was 67.

Shyam died because of pneumonia. A relative close to the filmmaker told PTI, “He was hospitalized Wednesday morning as he was not feeling well, so the family members got him hospitalized. He passed away in the hospital due to pneumonia.”

Shyam and his brothers were known for making low budget horror films in the 70s and 80s which later on became cult classic. Shyam along with his brother Tulsi also pioneered the genre on TV by coming up with the first horror series.

Shyam has films like ‘Bandh Darwaza’, ‘Veerana’ and ‘Purana Mandir’ to his credit.
