After Sooryavanshi and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, now Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer 83 which was slated to hit the silver screens on April 10 has been postponed due to Coronavirus outbreak.
Ranveer Singh took to his Twitter to share the news and wrote, “83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care. We shall be back soon!”

The statement reads, “In the wake of risk posed by the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and the growing health concerns, the release of 83 has been put on hold. We will take a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions return to normal. We urge our fans to take all the necessary precautions and take care of their loved ones. 83 is a film about fighting the odds and we hope we all will bounce back from this soon. With love, team 83.”

In the film, Ranveer will be playing Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone will be seen in a cameo avatar playing Romi Bhatia, Kapil Dev’s wife.

83 is based on India’s historic win against West Indies at the 1983 world cup and Ranveer will be seen playing former Indian skipper Kapil Dev.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie was slated to release on 10 April 2020.
