The Filmfare awards took place last week and while everyone was celebrating their wins, Harshvardhan Kapoor came out and slammed Filmfare for giving the best debut award to Diljit Dosanjh for his performance in Udta Punjab.

Harsh claimed that this isn’t his debut movie and can’t be considered as one because he’s a well established Punjabi star. He also added that he came with no experience while Dosanjh has been doing this for a while now.

While talking to an entertainment portal, Diljit finally opens up on the matter.

“I am not hurt. I am not sad. I am thankful to Filmfare Awards for the honour that they gave me. I don’t think I was deserving enough. It’s a big award (and) I think they would have seen something in me and so they gave me the award. For me the love of my fans matter the most and that’s the biggest award for me. I love Harshvardhan Kapoor. I also like his father Anil Kapoor, he is a superstar” Diljit said.

“I think actors like Fawad Khan and Dhanush have acted in other languages (referring to Pakistani movies and films in South India).” he added.

Recently, Diljit was also in headlines for the reports of his marriage hitting a rough patch. He and his wife aren’t on talking terms, but the actor even cleared this as a rumour saying, “I read about it. I think in Bollywood one gets publicity even without asking for it.”

Talking about films, Diljit Dosanjh will next feature in ‘Phillauri’ with actress Anushka Sharma. It is slated to release on March 24, 2017.
