Known for his acting finesse and versatility, Irrfan Khan, is bringing us another high-on-cinematic ride. The trailer of his upcoming film ‘Hindi Medium’ also star Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is out and we just love the dollops of sarcasm it offers.
Based on true story, ‘Hindi Medium’ is about a couple wanting to acquire a seat for their child in one of the best English medium schools. Of course, in today’s times, it is not a cakewalk.
In our country, knowing English is akin to being intelligent. Hindi Medium is a take on all such people who feel they are a notch apart because they know English. And what a funny, hilarious and emotional take it is!
The film showcases how difficult it is to get your child admitted to schools which can easily double up as luxury hotels. The family goes for a makeover but there is no admission in sight. Their Plan B is to get their girl admitted through ‘gareeb quota’, for which they turn poor. Now that brings in its wake everything that poverty entails, including mosquitoes and dengue.

Irrfan stands out in every frame, of course. While Saba Qamar who makes her Bollywood debut with this film, does her job pretty well and equally stands out in the trailer despite the strong screen presence of Irrfan.
The film is directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Along with Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar, Deepak Dobriyal are spreading their magic and we can safely say this satire on Indian education system is going to be really good.
The film is slated to release on May 12.
