Actor Samarth Shandilya who has acted in TV shows like ‘Sadda Haq’, ‘Savdhaan India‘ went down the memory lane as he recalled an incident from school days. Samarth who has worked in 2015 movie ‘Sabki Bajegi Band‘ along with Swara Bhaskar shared an incident when he got engaged in a spat with ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
Samarth featured in a bike ad a year ago that starred Virat Kohli. As it happened, they’d known each other back in school (Samarth is from Gyan Bharati School), and he says they recollected a fight they’d had in an inter-school competition!
“It was an inter-school competition held in Cambridge School in Delhi – it was a football match, and we were in Class IX. Many players were there, among them Virat, Ankur Julka, etc,” Samarth recounts. “At one point, Virat aggressively pulled the back of my shirt and when I asked, ‘Kya kar raha hai yeh?’ he pulled it even harder – I heard the shirt rip. And then he replied, ‘Yeh kar raha hoon’. We were both given red cards”.
“Recently, when I shot with him, he looked at me and recognizing me, said, ‘Football chhod diya? Yeh kar raha hai aaj kal?’ to which I replied, “Hey, relax! I have just completed my film,'” added Samarth.

Samarth says that Shah Rukh Khan has always been his inspiration, and since SRK is also from Delhi and has gone through an actor’s struggle, he is following in his footsteps and hopes to make it big one day. “I have always done things the Shah Rukh way. He has an NSD association, so I did NSD. He took classes at Barry John, I did the same. I was never a good student, but I have always been a great entertainer.”
Samarth has done TV shows like ‘Dare to Date‘ with John Abraham, ‘Gumrah Season 4′ says that films happen only once in a while – when he doesn’t have film work, he does a lot of TV shows. “TV has a lot of potential and is growing day by day. I’ve done a lot of VJing, acting and also reality shows; there’s a lot to be done on TV. I am now focusing on TV serials. I’ll do the movies that I get, but for my acting career, I have to ensure I don’t break my relationship with TV. I want to become the SRK of the TV industry!”
