Television actor Ram Kapoor is in a legal trouble. Reportedly, a criminal complaint has been filed against the actor in a city court in September, after he failed to pay back Rs 35 lakh that he had allegedly borrowed from Colaba-based Mavi Business Ventures LLP.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Mavi LLP has accused Kapoor of deception and cheating with dishonest intentions in a complaint lodged with the Colaba police on June 21, 2017. He had allegedly taken the loan to settle his American Express Credit card dues.
Mavi LLP was advised to take the matter in court and file a complaint against Kapoor by Colaba police. The firm filed a criminal complaint against the actor with a Mumbai district court in September.

The lawyer from the complainant told the tabloid that, “A criminal complaint with regard to the case has been filed at the Esplanade court in the matter last month.”
In May a legal notice was sent to Ram asking him to pay the money at the earliest. The notice further stated that legal proceedings would be carried against him if he failed to do so. Mirror, with whom a copy of the notice lies, also stated that Ram had taken the money which was supposed to be paid within a month at an interest rate of 24 percent per annum.
When contacted, Kapoor said: “I having nothing to comment on the matter. And this is since the matter is with the authorities.”
Kapoor, has acted in a few Bollywood movies, apart from bagging critical acclaim for his role in Ekta Kapoor’s soap Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, for which he won the Dadasaheb Phalke award for best television actor.
