Abhay took to his Facebook feed to call out the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan and others, for endorsing fairness creams and propagating racial and skin tone based discrimination.

His posts received overwhelming response, with likes running into thousands on each post by early evening.

The Dev.D actor’s posts must have come from days after former BJP MP Tarun Vijay’s remarks on South Indians. Vijay had told Al Jazeera last week that Indians cannot be called racist because they live with “black people” from the southern states. It provoked outrage in parliament and led to multiple disruptions with the opposition demanding that the government clarify whether it agreed with the outrageous views of its leader. Although, Mr Vijay, apologized and tweeted that his choice of words “sounds ridiculous and was very bad,” but we don’t know if his apology will calm down things soon.
