After getting banned in four states, makers of ‘Padmaavat’ heads to Supreme Court!

The controversy regarding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is still strong. Even after getting a U/A certificate from CBFC, the film is banned in few states.

The film has been banned in four states including Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Now which, the makers of the film move to the Supreme Court for relief as this will surely hamper Padmaavat‘s run at the box office.

The members of Rajput Karni Sena and other fringe groups have been leaving no stone unturned in protesting against the release of Bhansali’s magnum opus.

The film faces several threats from Rajput Sena. The film was accused to have offensive content against Rajput community.

The film stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid will step into the shoes of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Deepika will be play Padmini – the Rajput queen.

The film, became Padmaavat from Padmavati, courtesy the Central Board of Film Certification, which demanded change in its title among other modifications, before giving it a green signal.

The film is slated to release on January 25.
